Pohang: a pathway from demonstration to scale
A commercial-scale distributed-power project in Pohang, South Korea, shows how ammonia-to-power can grow in phases. Amogy’s supply agreement with Amun Energy begins with a 1 MW demonstration and targets expansion to 40 MW by 2029.
Technology
How our technology supports the product promise.
Amogy’s proprietary technology converts ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen. The hydrogen can then be used to generate electricity or support hydrogen applications depending on the system configuration.

Ammonia supply
Liquid ammonia is supplied from a storage tank to the reformer.

Catalytic cracking
Amogy’s catalyst splits ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen, producing a hydrogen-rich gas known as reformate.

Power generation
In the engine-based configuration, the hydrogen reformate fuels an engine-generator to produce electricity. Other configurations use a fuel cell, with gas treatment matched to its requirements.
